BIRDWAR, an indie rock trio based in Portland, Oregon, merges the raw edge of Dinosaur Jr. with haunting vocals reminiscent of Elliott Smith. Formed in 2023 by Matt Hoiland (guitar/vocals), Matthew Hamm (bass) and Ethan Boardman (drums), they captivate the scene with a unique blend of grit and introspection.
Their debut album, set for release this summer, promises a compelling mix of themes -- from astral projection to dating witches, as well as punk rock spies to friendship bracelets, all recorded in the distinctive 432Hz tuning.
